 In 2017, an estimated 2,800 people died of cancer in Nova Scotia, and 6,200 new cases were diagnosed.

 Nova Scotia has the newest cancer cases in the country for both men and women.

 

Nova Scotia has the highest cancer death rate in Canada for women.

In 2012, around 1,400 Canadian children were diagnosed with cancer

 

1 in 5  children with cancer does not survive, making cancer the number one disease killing children today.

There are around 30,000 survivors of childhood cancer in Canada today, most live with life-long health problems.

 An estimated 80,800 deaths from cancer occurred in Canada in 2017

Each year, around 250,000 children and teens are diagnosed with cancer. 90,000 of these children lose their life to the disease.
